This commercial for NBC Sports is simply wonderful. I’m not going to lie… I got a little emotional watching it.

This Dove “More to Love” commercial might be the cutest, most clever ad for a chocolate bar I’ve ever seen. In my opinion, it’s visually interesting and does a great job of appealing to Dove’s target audience. Plus, the song in the background ain’t half bad either (it’s ‘Hey Na Na’ by Katie Herzig).

Ahh the Ides of March poster. I hope they gave the guy who thought of this a nice little raise. I’m not gonna lie… I drove 45 minutes to the nearest theater that was playing this movie just because the poster looked awesome. It never gets old.

This isn’t the kind of ad I would normally post, but I loved it nonetheless. If I’d had more than two minutes to get to class, I definitely would’ve taken the time to scan the QR code just to see who the band was. I personally think this is clever as all get out. The only thing I have a problem with is that, from my experience, most people don’t like QR codes. Still, I personally find it awesome.

Thankful 365- Days 71-74

Sunday, March 11- I’m thankful for my car. That thing has been driven over 100,000 miles, and she’s still goin’ strong. I’m glad it’s not one of those cars that constantly has something wrong with it. I take it in for oil changes and tire rotations and she runs good as new. :)

Monday, March 12- I’m thankful for Alternative Spring Break! I will be spending next week serving alongside some amazing people who I never would have known had it not been for ASB.

Tuesday, March 13- I’m thankful for days without homework to do and tests to study for. Days when you can just relax and do nothing. Those days are rare occurrences in college, so when they come along, you can’t help but be thankful for them.

Wednesday, March 14- “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” -Ecclesiastes 11:6 I’m thankful for this verse. I’m still starting things up with my internship, and I’ve been doubting myself about whether this will work or if that will work. So, I came across this verse at the perfect time.

Thankful 365- Days 65-70

Monday, March 5- I’m thankful for how modern technology has made school and studying easier. The resources we have access to now are seriously amazing. For example- I made an online playlist with the songs for a music class I’m taking. Then, I downloaded an app on my phone so I could listen to it on-the-go, and I was able to study the songs all the way up until the test started. So cool.

Tuesday, March 6- I’m thankful for the Kony 2012 campaign. People are finally starting to realize the atrocities Kony is committing, and seeing people teaming up to end this man’s reign of terror makes me hopeful that this war might finally be put to an end and soon.

Wednesday, March 7- I’m thankful that there are people who trust me enough to let me take an idea and run with it. Having the creative freedom and flexibility that I have with my internship and some of my other activities is awesome.

Thursday, March 8- I’m thankful for my sweet friend Tammy! Today was her birthday, and I am so happy she was born. She is such a wonderful, giving person.

Friday, March 9- I’m thankful for the fact that my little sister has grown up to be a caring, passionate young lady. She sent me a text this morning asking me to do the Kony 2012 thing with her in April. I was so excited. :) (And on a completely unrelated note… I saw her drive for the first time last night. I think I was more nervous than anyone else in my family, but she did well! I was proud.)

Saturday, March 10- I’m thankful that I can rest in knowing that the Lord will provide. So comforting.

Thankful 365- Days 63 + 64

Saturday, March 3- I’m thankful for my roommate! I am seriously so, so lucky to have gotten a good roommate. Sure, it’s kind of disappointing that I won’t have roommate horror stories to tell, but I think having a drama-free year is so much better than that. UNT Housing, thank you for not pairing me with some crazy person.

Sunday, March 4- I’m thankful for the supportive CM community. Being a newbie, I’m really nervous that none of my ideas are going to work or that I’m doing everything wrong, but, so far, everyone has been very encouraging and supportive. It’s so great to be working people like that.

Thankful 365- Days 61 + 62

Thursday, March 1- I’m thankful for those moments when things just work. You know? When everything falls into place. I’m glad this doesn’t happen all the time, because we have to struggle with things in order to get better at them, but when it does happen, it’s some kind of wonderful.

Friday, March 2- I’m thankful for Friday afternoons. They are seriously the best. I get out of class early, then get to spend all afternoon working on stuff and studying so I don’t have to try to do it all during the weekend. Plus, I don’t have to stress about what’s due tomorrow. I can just work without feeling stressed out or a need to rush.

Thankful 365- Days 55-60

Friday, February 24- I’m thankful for cameras (photo AND video). The fact that they allow us to capture our favorite memories and relive them again and again is simply astounding.

Saturday, February 25- I’m thankful that I’m surrounded by people who support me and encourage me to go for what I want. I submitted an application for a WONDERFUL internship opportunity, and my friends, family, roommate… everyone has been so supportive of me. I can only imagine what it would be like to go through life without people like this who stand beside you and encourage you.

Sunday, February 26- I’m thankful for busy days. I think everyone needs days that are just absolutely crazy so they can appreciate the days that are peaceful and quiet.

Monday, February 27- I’m thankful for my new INTERNSHIP! I got the call Monday afternoon that they wanted to offer me the position, and I gladly accepted it! I am so, so excited. With that said, if anyone reading this is even slightly interested in traveling to another country, PLEASE let me know. I can send you information on some great, affordable trips to destinations ALL over the world. You’ve got nothing to lose. :)

Tuesday, February 28- I’m thankful for my JOUR group. We had a great meeting last night and got a lot accomplished. We seem to work together really well and feed off of each other’s ideas. It’s great when a group just clicks like that instead of having to fight to get everyone to participate.

Wednesday, February 29- I’m thankful for glasses and contacts. I cannot imagine going through life (especially school/work and driving) without them. (P.S. HAPPY LEAP DAY!)

Genius case study on the Dow Chalkboard ad- the “World’s Longest Human Equation.” Talk about creative!

Another great case study with crazy innovative ideas. Check out the collaboration between Bing and Jay-Z’s book!

Sadly, that’s all I’ve got for ya this week. Next week’s ad blog should be significantly longer. :)
